Goal: 10 x 1 minute round
Actual: 10 x 1 minute round
The other guy in the video is someone I met after the martial arts class that meets there in the gym on Mondays. He wanted to workout on Fred so I asked him if I could alternate in with him. The guy was pretty cool and wants to work in with me on Mondays.
Round 1 - 3
Round 4 - 7
Round 8 - 10
It is a big help to work out with someone else. He/she can tell you what to do, encourage, and tell you "5 seconds!" so you can push it. Kind of like a corner man. I've seen those Bas Rutten round counters and I kind of laughed it off but it seems kind of interesting and may see about trying it out once or twice.
In any case I did a couple of things I am proud of.
- Ended the rounds without dropping my guard. Stood square to the bag with my hands up at least and then walked away.
- Doubled up on kicks during the appropriate rounds.
- Stayed on the bag for a majority of the round.
- Movement was pretty good. Followed the bag according to the advice of Ksan.
Couple of negatives
- Breaking concentration to listen to what the side guy has to say. Did it a couple of times. Have to learn to be able to focus on what's at hand and listen to the outside at the same time.
- Keep hands up! I think next time I am going to pretend like i'm grabbing my ears.
Any tips are greatly appreciated and thank you for taking the time out to watch this.
OSU!
